Aetna has launched Mobile Assistant application to enable its international customers to file their medical claims and receipts from their smartphones while on the go.
Available for iPhones and Android phones, the new application can connect customers to personal health data, to manage all aspects of their health, on their terms, when and where it suits them.
Aetna International head Sandip Patel said, "Our Mobile Assistant App is one more way we are helping our global customers take charge of their health and health care."
The Mobile Assistant application is currently available to Aetna's international customers living outside of the US and is expected to make available to US expatriates later this year.
The new application is not available for members in China who are covered by health benefit plans, where regulations require original documents to be submitted.
Aetna provides free provider directory applications as well as other applications for its customers to help understand their symptoms, monitor their exercise and eating habits, and track their claims.
