Undertake October Launch for E-Nv200 in Japan

Japanese automaker Nissan Motor has announced its plans to launch the new all-electric commercial vehicle e-NV200 for sale from October 2014 across Japan.

The new vehicle is based on the Nissan's multi-purpose commercial van NV200 and has similar interiors combined with the acceleration performance and quietness of an electric vehicle (EV).

e-NV200 will feature onboard 100V power outlets installed in the front-seat side and the cargo area that are capable of supplying maximum electrical power of 1,500W from the battery.

According to the company, the EV reduces operating costs compared to the commercial vehicles that use internal combustion engines and also improves environmental image with zero exhaust emissions.

Equipped with a hydraulic brake system, the vehicle's regenerative braking is claimed to allow driving range of 185km to 190km on a full charge.

The vehicle's main battery pack is placed under the floor that enables lower vehicle instability when cornering and improves steering response, while the fine-tuned suspension system decreases driver fatigue during extended drives.

Features of the vehicle include remote climate control function, which can activate the air-conditioning system via cell phone or computer, Intelligent Key system and Hill Start Assist.

The e-NV200 also has halogen headlights, signature position lights, fog lamps, LED rear combination taillights, rearview monitor, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Anti-lock Braking System, Brake Assist and Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) with TCS functionality.

Nissan aims to sell 200 units of the e-NV200 per month across Japan market.
