US food group ConAgra foods has appointed General Mills executive Greg Schlafer as president of its Lamb Weston division.
Schlafer, who most recently served as VP of the bakeries and foodservice division for General Mills, will join the frozen potato firm on 25 February.

Greg Schlafer to Join ConAgra Foods as Lamb Weston President
EAGLE, Idaho, Jan. 11, 2013-ConAgra Foods, Inc., (NYSE: CAG) announced today that Greg Schlafer will join the company on Feb. 25 as president of its Lamb Weston frozen potato business. In alignment with ConAgra Foods' ambition to grow its core, international and private brands businesses, Schlafer will have specific responsibility for running Lamb Weston's global business which serves more than 2,500 restaurant, foodservice and retail customers in 120 countries.

Schlafer most recently served as vice president of the Bakeries & Foodservice division for General Mills. In that role, he was responsible for sales and profit delivery of all segment business units, including foodservice and convenience store channels, quick-serve restaurants, bakeries and milling, and in-store fresh bakery at retail. Throughout his career, Schlafer has built strong partnerships with several important customers with whom Lamb Weston also does business. He earned his MBA from UCLA's Anderson School of Management and his undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota.
