General Motors Is Expected to Generate $350m in Profit Over Three Years

General Motors is expected to generate $350m in profit over three years through the roll out of its 4G LTE mobile broadband in its cars and trucks.

General Motors chief financial officer Chuck Stevens was quoted by Reuters as saying: "Based on our plans today, which are still in the early stages of really taking advantage of this technology, we expect to see $350m of profit improvement between now and 2018 specific to 4G LTE, and in our view, that's just the beginning."

The automaker has equipped 4G LTE in more than 30 of its 2015-model vehicles in North America.

Stevens said that the company expects to launch it on all 2016 models and future plans include its rollout in overseas markets.

GM is currently targeting improved operating profit and margins in all auto regions in 2015 and 10% operating margins and a profit in Europe in 2016, the news agency said.

According to Stevens, the company also expects to more than double operating earnings by 2018.
