US-based automotive supplier, Delphi Automotive is starting operations at its newly expanded Beijing gasoline engine management systems (EMS) facility in China in order to meet the growing demand in Asia.
The site of the facility occupies area of over 30,000sqm and offers integrated manufacturing and R&D capabilities that is claimed to double the company's capacity for producing gasoline engine management systems.
Delphi Powertrain Systems president Steven Kiefer said, "The Beijing Technical Center, meanwhile, will have full testing capability for components, powertrain systems and vehicle performance and emissions to support advanced research & development for MPFI and GDi systems."
According to the company, the expanded facility will supply the China IV/V and future emissions-compliant gasoline EMS and components to its local customers.
Additionally, the facility will also manufacture multi-charge ignition coils, sensors, electronic throttle bodies, carbon canister solenoid valves, fuel delivery modules and fuel rail assemblies.
The automotive component manufacturer expects its fuel injection technologies to comply with the China V (Beijing V) standards.
