The Pork Rind Factory Recalls Pork Rind Products in US

South Carolina-based The Pork Rind Factory has recalled around 18,406 pounds of pork rind products due to “misbranding and undeclared allergens”, according to the US Department of Agriculture’s Food safety and Inspection Service.

The company said that the product may contain milk and soy, which are known as allergens and not listed on the product label. The products recalled were produced from 17 March through 3 September.

The recalled products include Food Lion, Suncrest Farms, and Larry's brands of pork rinds. These products were shipped to stores in Carolinas, Virginia and Pennsylvania.

So far, there have been no reports of illnesses or adverse conditions as a result of the consumption of these products, the USDA informed. The labeling issue emerged during the routine testing done by federal authorities.

The USDA urged consumers to check the products before purchasing and has cautioned those who may be susceptible to milk or soy allergies. Consumers have been urged to either discard them or return the products to stores from where they purchased to get a refund.
