SnackWell's Is Planning to Reformulate Its Products by Eliminating Several Ingredients

Low-fat snacks producer SnackWell's, which was recently acquired by Back to Nature Foods, is planning to reformulate its products by eliminating several ingredients, as well as expand its product range.

The company plans to produce its snacks without using high fructose corn syrup, partially hydrogenated oil, artificial flavors or colors.

Back to Nature Foods CEO Vincent Fantegrossi said: "Now more than ever, consumers are seeking flavorful products made with healthier ingredients, which is why since we've been under new ownership, we have been working to reinvigorate the SnackWell's brand and what we offer our customers.

"SnackWell's was one of the first brands on the market to offer consumers better-for-you snack options and our more than 20 years of experience has shaped who we are today as a brand. We're really excited to now have the opportunity to build on the brand's success with newly-reformulated products and new product offerings for our customers to enjoy."

SnackWell's will introduce new Devil's Food Cookie Cake flavor - Chocolate Mint and 100% Whole Grain Chocolate Chip Cookie Bites to its existing product range this June.

These products will be produced in a peanut-free facility, the company claims.

Additionally, SnackWell's will launch On the Go product line, which includes Yogurt Pretzels, Fudge Pretzels, Fudge Drizzled Chocolate Chip Cookies and Fudge Drizzled Double Chocolate Chip Cookies.

Each portion-control pack of the On the Go offerings will offer 100-130 calories per serving.

SnackWell's products are distributed in the US through leading retailers including Safeway, KEHE, Walmart, Kroger, Publix, Target, McClane, Ahold, Delhaize, and C&S.
