US-based vehicle manufacturer General Motors (GM) has received regulatory approvals to restart the production of its MUV Tavera in India.
Vehicles that are to be produced under the approval are BS III 7,8,9 and 10 seaters. However, the approval for BS IV models is still under process.
The company halted the production and sale of Tavera BS III and Tavera BS IV models in the country a few months back.
Besides, the company also recalled 1,14,000 Tavera units because of issues relating to emission standards and other regulatory specifications in July 2013.
General Motors India vice president P Balendran said that GM India has already received BS III 7, 8, 9 and 10 seater type approvals and production has also started.
"BS IV approval is under process and approval is expected any time now and will start production soon," Balendran added.
