Ukrainian miner and steel producer Metinvest Group has announced that the situation in the city of Mariupol has been fully stabilized, with public order having been restored and government buildings liberated. The city is located in southeastern Ukraine, on the northern coast of the Sea of Azov.
"The group's enterprises in Mariupol are functioning normally and according to their production plans. In particular, in May Azovstal plans to produce 341,000 mt of pig iron and 407,000 mt of steel, while Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol aims to produce 437,000 mt of pig iron and 390,000 mt of steel. Products are being delivered in a stable manner to our customers both from Azov Sea and Black Sea ports," said Dmitry Nikolayenko, Metinvest Group's sales director.
