Global authentication solutions provider LaserLock Technologies has filed a provisional patent application for a Covert Marking System Based On Multiple Latent Characteristics.
The anti-counterfeiting Technology technology allows the company's clients a customizable method to authenticate their products.
According to the company, the patent application describes a system for combining multiple latent characteristics within a single pigment.
The pigments, in combination with the company's other technologies, can be formulated into inks that work with all existing printing and packaging technologies including commercial ink jet printers.
LaserLock Technologies president Neil Alpert said the company's ability to combine multiple latent characteristics satisfies its clients request, while improving the solution's security and resiliency.
"LaserLock can now create pigments with several latent characteristics, only a portion of which might initially be used for authentication," Alpert said.
