German automobile manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has added the GLK 250 4MATIC engine for the GLK model series.
The four-cylinder 2L V6 petrol direct injection engine delivers an output of 155kW (211hp) with torque of 350Nm, and will be made available by the company in its GLK-Class all sports utility vehicle (SUV) models.
According to the company, the engine offers acceleration of 0-100km/h in 7.9S and top speed of 215km/h, while providing fuel consumption between 7.7L to 7.5L per 100km with carbon emissions of 180g-176g/km.
The 139kg engine comes with exhaust gas turbocharger, direct injection, low friction losses and the demand-actuated control of the ancillary units, claims the company.
Mercedes-Benz ECO start/stop function, seven-speed 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission is included in the GLK engine in the M mode, with a digital gear indicator.
The GLK model range will include six diesel models and two petrol models from June 2013.
