Skoda Australia Has Launched a Capped-Price Servicing Program with Octavia

Skoda Octavia: $22, 990 Driveaway Price, Capped-Price Servicing Revealed

Skoda Australia has launched a capped-price servicing program with the introduction of the new Octavia.

The details of Skoda's capped-price servicing campaign were officially embargoed until 12pm tomorrow but already appear live on Skoda Australia's public website, along with an aggressive $22,990 driveaway starting price for the entry-level Octavia Ambition 103TSI manual sedan. The previous Octavia was officially priced from $24,990 before on-road costs, though has been offered as low as $18,990 driveaway in run-out mode.

The servicing schedule also reveals the new Skoda Octavia's fully turbocharged powertrain line-up, which comprises the 103kW/250Nm 1.4-litre four-cylinder petrol, a larger 132kW/250Nm 1.8-litre petrol, and a 110kW/320Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine.

The 103TSI is available with either a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch DSG automatic, the 132TSI with a seven-speed DSG and the 110TDI with a six-speed DSG. Additional details on Skoda's website revealed a claimed combined cycle fuel consumption rating of 4.9 litres per 100km for the 110TDI and 5.2L/100km for the 103TSI DSG.

Skoda Australia's capped-price servicing program covers the owner's first six services up to six years/90,000km at intervals of 12 months or 15,000km (whichever comes first).

The Octavia 103TSI is the cheapest over the first six services, costing owners $2044. Not included in that price is an additional $173 for a replacement of the pollen filter and brake fluid, completed every 24 months.

Servicing the Octavia 132TSI costs $2397 over the length of the program, while the Octavia 110TSI costs $2464 (both also require new pollen filters and brake fluid every second year).

The move from Skoda Australia to offer capped-price servicing signals its intent to strengthen its value-for-money proposition in the market, and follows the lead of sister company Volkswagen and most other mainstream manufacturers.
