Reportedly, French Aperam, the third largest stainless steel maker in France, has planned to restart annealing and pickling lines at its Gueugnon plant in northern France while the line was severely damaged by a fire on December 23rd last year.
However, the company has not confirmed the temporary production at Genk and Isbergues would cover the lost capacity at Gueugnon and there’s also no any further information how much production had already been lost since the fire so far.
In addition, the company expects to restart the AP lines once all major problems have been solved.
