ADI Expands Portfolio of RF's Microwave Standard Modules for Rapid Prototyping and Faster Time to Market

Analog Devices Inc (ADI) of Norwood, MA, USA (which provides ICs for analog and digital signal processing applications) has introduced four RF and microwave standard modules that extend and strengthen its standard module product portfolio.

The HMC-C582 is a 0.01-20GHz ultra-wideband power amplifier module in an ML-4-1 package. The HMC-C583 is a 0.01-40GHz single-pole single-throw (SPST) switch module in an ML-5-1 package. The HMC-C584 is a 0.01-40GHz 31dB, 5-bit digital attenuator module in an HML-10-1 package. The HMC7891 is a 2-18 GHz limiting amplifier module in an ML-4-2 package.

The new modules complement ADI's existing product range by delivering what are claimed to be easy-to-use, fully integrated, hermetically sealed solutions that shorten the proof-of-concept phase of the design cycle and help to reduce the overall in-house technical support needed to assemble, test and validate a design.

ADI says that, unlike many other module manufacturers, it uses its own monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICs) in each module, guaranteeing consistent quality, reliability and performance in any application.

"ADI's comprehensive portfolio of standard module products allows our customers to construct quickly and easily a fully operational prototype in less than half the time it takes to design and build from a clean sheet of paper," claims Bryan Goldstein, general manager, Aerospace and Defense business unit. "These hermetically sealed, high-reliability products allow our customers to provide rapid prototype demonstrations and deliver these products into commercial and military flight systems as production-ready components," he adds. "If required, ADI can perform additional levels of screening such as radiation hardening to ensure complete compliance for space-related applications."
