BlackBerry hired Eric Johnson as president of global sales, reporting to John Chen, executive chair and CEO.
The addition will “round out BlackBerry's new executive leadership team,” said Chen.
"The experience that the majority of the new leadership team has in working together previously will drive change within the organization at a faster pace,” Chen added.
Johnson most recently served as senior VP/general manager for SAP's global database and technology efforts. Before that, he was SAP’s senior VP/general manager of platform and analytics sales for North America. He was previously with Sybase.
Recently, the company appointed James Mackey as executive VP for corporate development and strategic planning. Mark Wilson was recently named senior VP of marketing.
Previously, Mackey was senior VP of corporate development at Open Text Corp. and head of corporate development at SAP.
Wilson came from Avaya, where he was chief marketing officer. He was also senior VP of corporate and field marketing at Sybase and also worked at AT&T and KPMG.
