Plastic caps and closures producer Procap has announced the acquisition of Schoeller Cap Systems (SCS) in Schwerin, Germany.
The acquisition will provide Procap its first local manufacturing facility and enable the new enterprise Procap Schwerin to better serve local clients and international customers in the region.
According to Procap, the acquisition will expand SCS' reach in the beverages industry and also allow for a broader product range to be offered to existing customers and the German market.
The three biggest markets for plastics closures in Europe are the UK, France and Germany, and with the acquisition of a plant in Ireland, Procap has already strengthened its position in the UK.
The acquisition also supports the company's goals to open opportunities in Scandinavia and Poland.
