Kelly’s Carpet and Avalon Flooring were named Mohawk Industries' Decorate for the Cure Retailers of the Year.
The Decorate for the Cure Retailer of the Year award recognizes retailers that not only did an extraordinary job promoting Mohawk’s signature pink SmartCushion product, but also actively engage with the Susan G. Komen affiliate organizations in their local community throughout the year.
"We truly have the best retailers in the business, and they have embraced this opportunity to give back to their local communities," said David Duncan, Mohawk's senior vice president of marketing and sales operations. "In particular, we are proud to recognize Kelly’s Carpet and Avalon Flooring for their sincere commitment to the Decorate for the Cure cushion program. They have both gone above and beyond to help us support the Susan G. Komen mission to save lives and end breast cancer forever.
In addition to providing comfort, performance and protection for carpet, Mohawk’s SmartCushion supports the vision of a breast cancer–free world. As part of the Decorate for the Cure program, Mohawk donates a portion of all SmartCushion sales to Susan G. Komen.
“With Decorate for the Cure, our retail partners can engage in these important discussions every single day with their customers," said Jon England, senior director of cushion and pad. "Not only are we raising money for cancer research, but by working together, we’re also increasing awareness. It’s an important discussion and we feel honored that Mohawk can help give voice to the conversation."
Kelly’s Carpet is a family owned and operated business serving Omaha, Neb., and the surrounding communities. “Kelly’s Carpet is a top-notch organization that gives back to the community through volunteering, gifts to charitable organizations and personal actions. We are proud to include them as part of the Mohawk family and name them a Decorate for the Cure Retailer of the Year” said England. In addition to supporting the efforts of Susan G. Komen, Kelly’s Carpet also supports local education and recycling initiatives in the local community.
Avalon Flooring was founded in 1963 by John Millar, when he opened a single store in Avalon, N.J. Over the past 50 years the company has grown to 14 locations throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware, and it’s now the seventh largest floor covering retailer in the nation. Owner Maryanne Adams prides herself in providing customers a warm, professional service and an exceptional range of quality products. Additionally, Avalon maintains an active role in the communities where customers and employees live by donating both time and money to charities and non-profit organizations in order to raise awareness for important causes.
“The store’s ongoing demonstrated success within the Decorate for the Cure program is admirable and worthy of recognition,” said England.
