Tension Packaging & Automation has announced the launch of its new color 1/2-fold printer-folder-inserter (PFI) that features a RISO color inkjet printer and prints, folds and inserts all required patient documentation before reaching the pharmacy's packing station.
According to the US-based company, the new Tension PFI automates the printing, verification and dispensing of customer-specific prescription documents. It refers to the pharmacy's medication image library and prints a high-resolution image of a dispensed pill directly onto the patient's information sheet.
With the help of the clear imprint code, color and shape patient can cross-check the pill with the content in the bottle and get a visual cue to verify their order.
Tension PFI also connects with client software used to create transpromotional opportunities for pharmacies in supermarket and drugstore chains.
