Merino wool continues to affirm its status as a fibre for all seasons, as The Woolmark Company expands and develops its activities and partnerships at London Collections: Men (LC:M) as a way to highlight the relevance of wool within men’s fashion for the spring/summer 2015 season.
The English Gentleman
The Woolmark Company once again teamed up with the fine tailors of Savile Row, along with London's best shirt makers and hatters, to present the modern face of British elegance via The English Gentleman. This season, The English Gentleman is 'on leave' and so a series of images and a soon-to-be-released film have been created, delivering a spring/summer message of 'Wool is Cool for Summer'.
The Woolmark Company Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer Rob Langtry highlights the importance of the LC:M collaborations.
"We highly value our collaboration with Savile Row in producing 'The English Gentleman' each season," Mr Langtry said. "It highlights the craftsmanship and heritage associated with this sector of the menswear industry, bringing the tailors and Merino wool to the forefront of the global fashion arena and international press. The importance of Savile Row never diminishes and in recent years has increased its popularity and the influence of fine tailoring on key global markets including the USA, Japan and China."
