Innerwear and apparel marketer Jockey International has launched a new licensed category for Jockey; men’s and women’s casual footwear.
“Jockey has partnered with footwear experts, The Eastman Group, to design, manufacture and market casual footwear, slippers, flip flops and leisure styles,” a Jockey International press release said.
According to Jockey, it has been searching for the perfect partner with whom they can expand into the footwear space, a long-awaited category for the brand.
“Founded in 1986, The Eastman Group specialises in technical fabrics and innovative techniques; the perfect match for Jockey whose mission is to provide high quality and innovative apparel,” it added.
“We have found an ideal match with the Eastman Group, which has extensive knowledge of the footwear industry to pair with Jockey’s expertise,” said Milou Gwyn, vice president of licensing.
“This seamless integration of quality, cross-functional and technology-driven footwear falls perfectly in line with Jockey’s commitment to deliver innovative products,” Gwyn added.
Jockey’s new men’s and women’s footwear collections will feature cutting edge materials which regulate temperature; cooling in warm weather and insulating in the cold.
The shoes will also include moisture-wicking fabrics with anti-microbial properties; a must-have in footwear.
The full collection will feature slippers in the fall months, sandals in the warmer seasons, and casual leisure footwear year-round.
The new Jockey footwear collection will debut with a soft launch for the spring/summer 2016 season, with a full launch in fall/winter 2016.
Founded in 1876, Jockey International is a privately held company and its apparel products are sold in major department and specialty stores in more than 140 countries around the world.
The Eastman Group was founded in 1986 by footwear industry veterans, the Mizrachi family and brings industry experience and expertise to create footwear for some of the world’s leading apparel providers.
