Flexible packaging converter American Packaging has announced expansion plans at its facility in Columbus with an investment of $22.6m.
As part of the expansion project, the company will add 37,000ft2 for a new finishing department at the facility which caters to the needs of flexible packaging industry by supplying rotogravure printed material, madison.com reported.
In addition, the company is planning to establish a new technology center, with completion slated in December 2014.
The Columbus facility is said to operate in an area occupying 440,000ft2.
For the past five years, the packaging firm has posted an average sales growth of 11% a year.
