Chrysler has announced that it is adding 208,783 to it ongoing recall list to replace passenger-side air-bag inflators supplied by Takata.
The latest recall will include older model vehicles that were bought or registered across five states and three territories in the US which includes Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Hawaii, Louisiana, and Mississippi
The affected vehicles include 2003-2005 model of Dodge Ram 1500; 2500; and 3500, 2004-2005 Dodge Durango, 2005 version of Dodge Magnum and Dodge Dakota Pickup, 2005 Chrysler 300, 300C, and SRT8.
The latest recall includes air-bag inflators with product family code-name "PSPI" which is different in design and construction from the PSPI inflators that are used by other auto makers.
Chrysler said: "At the request of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Chrysler Group is expanding its replacement action beyond its original scope of Florida, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands."
The car maker also said that it is not aware of any injuries or accidents related to the PSPI inflators so far and has not yet identified any defect in the components.
Chrysler is planning to notify the vehicle owners starting from 8th February 2015 and the cars will be serviced for free.
