Daimler Group considered Smart as an example to develop micro SUV, and will put them into market in several years.
Daimler plans to expand the product range of Smart brand, and will launch super cars like ForTwo, ForFour and Roadster and so on. At present, the company focuses on the field of SUV, and plan to develop a SUV on the basis of Smart, which will be put into market by 2013.
New Smart SUV will be considered as the batch production version of ForMore Concept. The model will apply the platform of the second-generation Smart ForTwo, and take MINI Countryman as rival.
Auto Motor und Sport expressed that the new micro SUV will apply four-wheel drive mode and the new drive mode technology will be applied in Daimler’s future products.
