Thrifty Foods Is Recalling Certain Chicken Products

Canada-based Thrifty Foods is recalling certain chicken products as they may be contaminated with cleaning chemicals.

The products subject to recall include Thrifty Fresh! Whole Barbecue Chicken Regular, BBQ Chicken Breasts Hot!! and Chicken Legs Hot, featuring UPC 774147302203, starting 286385 and starting 286401 respectively with best before 2014JA04.

Implicated products have been sold at Thrifty Foods outlet at Port Place, 650 South Terminal Avenue, Nanaimo, British Columbia, on 3 January.

Consumers who have purchased the products have been advised not to eat them and contact the retailer if unsure if they have the affected products.

No illnesses have been reported, associated with the consumption of these products.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is conducting a food safety investigation.
