Eurocast Boosts Rigid Packaging Production Capacity in Poland

Polish firm Eurocast has installed new APET extruder, manufactured by Italian company Luigi Bandera, to meet the growing market demand for rigid packaging in the country.

The new machine, which will complement the two existing machines at its undisclosed site, is designed to manufacture rigid APET films with a thickness of 180 to 1200 micrometers and a maximum width of 1050mm.

The company said that the installation will increase its rigid packaging production capacity by about 40%.

Eurocast president Krzysztof Wisniewski said: “The new extruder will increase our capacity and help meet the growing demand from existing customers, but it will also get our products to markets inaccessible so far.”

The company has commenced sales of films produced on the new extruder in mid-August 2016.

Eurocast said that the demand for the APET films is growing as a material for food packaging due to their versatility. The recyclable films provide superior product protection.

The investment in new machinery is part of the company’s investment and development plan scheduled through the end of 2018.

The firm plans to increase its production capacity from 11 to 15 thousand tons.

Wisniewski added: “We strive to anticipate our clients’ needs and expectations by increasing flexibility while maintaining quality and service at the highest level.”

Eurocast is engaged in manufacturing a wide range of modern mono- and multilayer flexible polypropylene and polyethylene films as well as PET rigid films for the production of food packaging and medical packaging, among other industrial applications.
