Toyota Motor Sales (TMS) USA has reported 60.3% rise in its vehicle sales to 177,795 units in May 2012, when compared to the year-ago month.
During the initial six months of 2012, the sales of TMS climbed 28.7% to 1,046,096 units.
Toyota Motor Sales USA Toyota Division group vice president and general manager Bob Carter said June and first-half year sales were driven by consumer interest in the company's new models including the Prius c and the Camry.
"We expect to see continued stability in the automotive market during the second half of 2012 thanks to pent-up demand, low interest rates and a continued influx of new products," Carter said.
The Lexus Division reported 85.9% rise in its vehicle sales to 20,022 units in June 2012 over the same period in 2011.
Sales of hybrid vehicles increased 335.2% throughout the group to 25,776 units, which include Toyota Division's sale of 23,105 hybrids and remaining by Lexus division.
