Setra Bus and Coach, a subsidiary of the Stuttgart-based automobile manufacturer Daimler, has unveiled its new TopClass 500 bus with the new three-axle coach design.
The bus is powered by the OM 471 LA in-line six-cylinder engine mated to the GO 250 eight speed power-shift transmission generates an output in the range between 350kW and 375kW.
According to the company, the new bus complies with the Euro VI emission standards as well as other safety regulations and legal provisions which are expected to come into effect in the upcoming years.
In addition to complying with the Euro VI emission standard for new vehicles which comes into effect in 2014, the overall concept of the TopClass 500 already makes allowance for numerous safety regulations and legal provisions which will take effect in coming years.
The vehicle comes with driver assistance systems applicable from 2015 including the ECE-R 66/01, which requires improved roll-over stability of touring coaches and comes into effect in the next two years.
