Shop Packaging Recalling Nearly 115,505 Pounds of Chicken Wing Products

US-based establishment Shop Packaging is recalling nearly 115,505 pounds of chicken wing products as they may contain soy lecithin that is not mentioned on the label, according to the US Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The products associated with the recall include 20-lb bags containing Chicken Mid-joint Wing bearing establishment number P-46946 inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The recalled chicken wing products have been produced on various dates between 8 August and 10 October 2014 and were shipped to a distribution location in New York.

The recall has been initiated after a FSIS inspector discovered that the company sprayed a vegetable and canola oil, which contains soy lecithin, on their conveyor belt.

This recall has been classified as Class II health hazard situation where there is a remote probability of adverse health consequences from the use of the product.

No illnesses have been reported associated due to the consumption of the recalled products.
