SnoopWall Has Filed a Patent with The United States Patent

SnoopWall has filed a patent with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO.gov). This utility patent has been filed under the international patent countries treaty (PCT) for worldwide protection of the SnoopWall technology.

"Antivirus and firewalls are not designed for the next generation of cyber threats that include zero-day malware and APTs (Advanced Persistent Threats)," said Gary Miliefsky, Founder and President of SnoopWall. "Cyber criminals have been deploying more sophisticated and damaging malware, creating a problem that even big antivirus vendors can't solve. I created the technology for SnoopWall for this reason—it's a next generation solution for next generation malware."

Unlike traditional antivirus and firewall novelties, this patent covers a new area of protection known as counterveillance, whereby the preferred embodiment is a utility that blocks remote access, eavesdropping, spying and snooping maliciously on computing and mobile devices such as desktops, laptops, tablets and smartphones.

Where antivirus and firewall technologies dig into packets and payload, this new technology protects the end users from high risk data leakage by refocusing the protection mechanisms where they are needed the most-- at the webcams, microphones, bluetooth devices, near field communications (NFC) hardware and other points of weakness, now exploited by the latest malware and cyber criminals. This also provides improvements in memory consumption, battery life and productivity, without the need for constant scanning and updates that traditionally don't catch the latest malware and end up bogging down the users and their devices.
