CSafe Global, a manufacturer of temperature-controlled air-freight containers for the biopharmaceutical industry, has acquired France-based temperature-controlled packaging solutions supplier Kalibox.
Established in 2001, Kalibox has two 5000m2 of manufacturing facilities in France. It provides cold chain packaging solutions throughout Europe.
The firm manufactures temperature-controlled packaging including insulated shippers, patented design insulated pallet shippers and refrigerants.
CSafe president and CEO Brian Kohr said: “The acquisition of Kalibox is an important milestone for CSafe as we work hard to be able to continue to support our global customers with the right solutions for their cold chain shipments.”
The acquisition is expected to contribute to CSafe’s s global expansion plans while complementing its existing six facilities in North America. The six facilities have a combined area of over 20,000m2.
Kalibox COO Christophe Langerock and Kalibox CEO Antoine Soulas said in a joint statement: “The merger with CSafe is a strategic move for Kalibox and its customers. It will allow us to accelerate our development, accompany our customers globally, and create value for them in significantly extending our product offering in Europe.”
CSafe said that the deal has expanded its cold chain solution manufacturing capacity in Europe.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Kohr added: “This investment to expand our product offering to include an alternate but needed design of passive packaging along with a line of passive pallet shippers and gel bricks allows CSafe to continue to help our customers create the most efficient, effective, reliable and secure temperature controlled supply chain.”
Recently, CSafe Global said it has manufactured the 1000th RKN active container, marking a significant strategic growth milestone.
