UPL,a Cardiff-based utilities company and Opus Energy partner,is planning to create 70 new jobs following the acquisition of Meter-Mimic.
Rhys Wynne,chief executive of UPL,said:"The acquisition fitted perfectly into our plans for growth.Meter-Mimic is a major breakthrough in utility metering.It is the world's first and only universal meter monitor that turns traditional meters into smart meters in just 20 minutes."
"The difficulty in reading traditional meters is that they are often inaccessible,"said Mr Wynne."This can mean a lot of time and money spent replacing them,particularly for organisations which may have a great number of meters."
