Fritz Hansen has recently launched two new product series, the minuscule and the re-introduction of the KAISER idell lights.
Designed by Cecilie Manz, minuscule represents the informal and understated style that the Scandinavians are famous for.Consisting of a formal chair and table, minuscule is an uncomplicated yet sophisticated design combining the tradition of craftsmanship and industrial production.
The shell of the seat is upholstered and hand stitched in a light weight, yet durable textile and features a leather detail that follows the contours of the shell. It is held by a base frame formed in plastic which acts as a contrasting yet complimenting contemporary material. The upholstery of the outer shell is available in two shades of grey. The inner shell is upholstered in a range of shades ranging from rust orange and ocher,to a dark ultramarine blue.
The lounge table features the same base as the chair in grey plastic with a table top in Oregon Pine or white compact laminate. The minuscule chair and table series is less structured and therefore adaptable to different environments.
Fritz Hansen is also adding an original design icon into their collection–the KAISER idell lamp collection, designed by the German silversmith,Christian Dell in the 1930s.
The lamp series carries representation towards the Bauhaus era which makes it a perfect match to the works of Arne Jacobsen and Poul Kjaerholm. The asymmetrical design of the KAISER idell lampshade is a characteristic feature of the lamp design.
Manufactured in high-quality steel, the shade is hand-painted in its distinctive original colors. With its unique quality, precision engineering and craftsmanship, the KAISER idell series exuberates originality, sculptural excellence and pure design at its best.
