Organic snacks manufacturer Barnana has is set to unveil a new snack made from upcycled bananas.
The company's Organic Crunchy Banana Brittle will be launched at the Natural Products Expo West Show in Anaheim, California.
Banana Brittle comes in four different flavors and will be available at Whole Foods Market among other retailers from next month onwards.
The price of a 3.5oz bag of the banana snack has been fixed at $4.99.
Barnana CEO and founder Caue Suplicy said: “In line with our vision to become the brand synonymous with banana-based products, I am very excited to launch this Banana Brittle.
“We have always wanted to create something crunchy that was unlike any other crunchy banana product and twice as delicious, now we have.”
The California-based organic snacking company says that the new range is cooked in healthful coconut oil. Its flavors range from sweet to spicy and creamy to nutty to include Gingersnap, Peanut Butter, Chocolate and Toasted Coconut.
Its Gingersnap variant has a mix of bananas with ginger to give a spicy, woody and sweet taste. The Peanut Butter variety on the other hand has a creamy, nutty and sweet taste.
While the Chocolate variety comes with a rich, dark and delectable taste as per its maker, the Toasted Coconut variety has a nutty and buttery taste, said Barnana.
The snacks manufacturer claims that the new range of thin, brittle crisps are made from upcycled bananas and are free from gluten, soy besides being non-GMO.
Barnana’s other banana-based snacks are available at Whole Foods Market, Safeway, Costco, Sprouts, Thrive Market, Wegmans and other fine retail outlets in the US.
