6 Japanese carmakers produced in China (Toyota Motor, Honda Motor, Nissan Motor, Suzuki Motor, Mazda Motor and Mitsubishi Motor) published some statistics in January 28. The statistics shows that Japanese carmakers’ Chinese output was 2,971,044 in 2012, with a drop of 8.2% compared to 2011.
However, when it comes to January in 2013, Nissan Motor and Honda Motor’s factories in China had recovered their production system to day and night shifts. Therefore, Japanese cars’ sales in China recovered gradually.
Including Fuji Heavy Industries which had no factories in China, 7 Japanese carmakers’ sales in China was 3,128,101 in 2012, down 7.6% year on year.
From the manufacturers’ production in China, Mitsubishi Motor’s output slashed 37.2% year on year; both Mazda Motor and Suzuki Motor’s outputs had two digit reductions. In all the Japanese carmakers, Nissan Motor had the highest Chinese market share and its output decreased 7.2% year on year in 2012.
