US-based Mohawk Valley Trading Company is set to launch its new honey product, Comb Honey, in the summer of 2013.
Comb honey is honey that contains pieces of the hexagonal-shaped beeswax cells of the honeycomb and is intended for consumption. The company noted that comb honey remains popular among consumers both for eating 'as is' and for combining with extracted honey to make Chunk Honey.
Mohawk Valley Trading Company spokesperson Mary Ross said that the comb honey is the rawest honey that is cut from the hive.
"Bottled honey is extracted from the beeswax comb and the comb is able to be used again, because the comb is completely removed to produce comb honey the bees and beekeeper must work harder to produce it," added Ross.
Mohawk Valley Trading Company offers several honey products as well as maple syrup.
