The US flooring group Mohawk intends to deliver significant growth in the years ahead. The company has announced three major takeovers since October 2012: Pergo laminate flooring activities from Pfleiderer, the Italian tile producer Marazzi and Spano Group. The Pergo transaction closed on 10 January. A short time later, Mohawk’s subsidiary Unilin announced a number of restructuring projects for Pergo, including the closure of its two Swedish production plants.
The acquisitions are to be financed in part by a US$600m corporate bond issued in January that will run for ten years at an interest rate of 3.85 %.
