North American rigid containers supplier BWAY has completed the previously announced acquisition of Canada-based Ropak Packaging in a transaction valued at about $265m.
Under the terms of the agreement, which was originally announced in December 2012, BWAY will acquire Ropak from the Linpac Group through a stock purchase.
BWAY president and chief executive officer Kenneth Roessler said the Ropak acquisition is set to create new opportunities for the company's customers, employees and other partners.
"We are now focused on completing a seamless transition and realizing the benefits of bringing the two businesses together," Roessler said.
The acquisition of the rigid, plastic shipping containers producer Ropak closed less than three months after BWAY was acquired by Platinum Equity in November 2012.
BWAY operates 22 plants throughout the US and Canada.
