Ford has introduced its next generation fleet management platform dubbed Ford Telematics, aimed at facilitating better fleet operations.
Just like its predecessor, the new platform is also powered by Telogis and will be available cross the world.
Ford Telematics is a suite of cloud-based applications that is designed to provide exclusive metrics and insights on commercial fleets.
It facilitates mobile connectivity, which is capable of connecting drivers with fleet managers to coordinate on different aspects of the fleet.
The solution also provides data including diesel emissions and idle time, and fuel management reports along with the new dashboard monitor which is designed to help managers check upon driver behavior and operations.
The system is also capable of provide audible driver feedback on hard braking, harsh acceleration, and excessive speed.
Ford Telematics will be available as a dealer-installed aftermarket option, and customers can opt to install the system from the factory prior to the delivery.
The system has been rolled out to Super Duty and F-150 pickup, Transit, and Police Interceptor Utility in North America.
Ford CTO Raj Nair said: "Commercial trucks have to be more than delivery boxes on wheels, and innovations like Ford Telematics are critical to helping our fleet customers succeed.
