Renault Has Taken The Wraps off Its D-Segment Saloon 'talisman'

French automobile major Renault has taken the wraps off its D-segment saloon ‘Talisman’, armed with high-performance, small-displacement engines such as Energy TCe 200 for petrol versions and Energy dCi 160 and Energy dCi 130 for diesel.

The vehicles, manufactured in the company's Douai plant in France, will hit the stores at the end of the year in Europe even though there is no current plan for selling the vehicle in the UK or Ireland.

On the front of CO2 emissions, the 110hp Energy dCi engine unit gives out 95g/km of CO2.

Renault corporate design - senior vice-president Laurens van den Acker said: "We are proud to be unveiling the Talisman, Renault's new four-door saloon. The Talisman is generous in its exterior proportions, in its cabin space and in the passenger comfort it offers.

"It stands out from the competition with its confident front end, its graceful tail and muscular flanks. Whichever angle you view it from, it looks ready to pounce. We designed it with passion so that its drivers feel proud."

The new model flaunts an overall length of 4.85 meters and a width of 1.87 meters, in addition to a 2.81 meter long wheelbase.

Exterior designer of Talisman Alexis Martot said "My chief priority was to make sure the car had all the right fundamentals in terms of its proportions, the ratio of glazed areas to sheet metal and wheel size."

Displaying over 25 liters of stowage space around the cabin, an animation welcomes the driver with all the audio-visual attributes.

The seat is also capable of sliding back 50mm for the convenience of the driver and returns to the original position afterwards.

The Talisman also has a shortcut button through which Comfort to Sport modes could be switched over with two clicks.

It is available in nine metallic finishes of Pearlescent White, Dune Beige, Cosmos Blue, Vison Brown, Cassiopée Grey, Platine Grey, Etoilé Black, Carmin Red, Améthyste Black and one non-metallic finish of Glacier White.
