Swedish commercial vehicle manufacturer Scania has secured a bus supply contract from the India based Siddhi Vinayak Logistics (SVLL).
As part of the deal, the manufacturer will complete delivery of 120 buses to the logistics firm over the next one year.
The new buses are expected to allow the logistics services provider to start a luxury bus segment in the country and will be added to SVLL's fleet of 4,000 trucks.
Scania Commercial Vehicle India managing director Anders Grundstromer said the order underlines the strong relationship that the company has developed with SVLL.
"We are delighted to take our relationship to the next level and extend further support to Siddhi Vinayak Logistics Ltd. in its quest to enhance transportation services for the country," Grundstromer added.
SVLL director Deepak Baid said "The Indian Luxury Transport is rapidly improving with various new technology adoptions and growing requirements of comfort travelling."
