Property and casualty insurer ACE has promoted Lauretta Alberti as senior environmental insurance underwriter for the Benelux and Nordic region.
Lauretta will report to Dorothee Prunier, environmental insurance manager, continental Europe and Ron Verhulsdonck, country manager, Benelux.
In the new role, she will oversee the development and underwriting of environmental insurance programs across the region in association with the company's European team of specialist environmental risk underwriters.
Having spent 11 years at the firm and worked in key positions as senior casualty underwriter, she worked as manager marine and liability, claims and broking for Credit Lyonnais Bank Assurantin, and at Gebroeders Sluyter and Erasmus Verzekeringen as marine claims handler.
ACE Benelux country manager Ron Verhulsdonck said the environmental risk can severely affect European companies in terms of finance, social and reputational damage.
"With her extensive underwriting and claims experience and knowledge of the local market, Lauretta's experience will be invaluable as we expand our environmental risk capability and build our proposition for mid-market and larger companies in the Benelux and Nordic region," Verhulsdonck added.
Trading in 53 nations across the globe, ACE offers commercial and personal property and casualty insurance, personal accident and supplemental health insurance, reinsurance and life insurance products.
