Audi, Mitsubishi and Volkswagen Take Part in UK Government's Go Ultra Low Campaign

Audi, Mitsubishi and Volkswagen have joined the UK government’s 'Go Ultra Low' campaign to promote the use of low emission vehicles.

BMW, Nissan, Renault and Toyota are already a part of the programme which focuses on promoting adoption of 'plug-in' cars and vans. It also provides information on the types of vehicles available and government grants for any vehicle.

The Go Ultra Low campaign started in 2010 and the UK government announced that it will pay £5,000 for each ULEV car purchased and £8,000 towards the purchase of a van.

Till now the UK government has received 25,000 grant claims.

The manufacturers till now offer 15 ULEVs that are designed to suit the taste of all kinds of consumers.

Go Ultra Low spokesperson Hetal Shah: "More UK car-buyers are realising the advantages of owning an ultra-low emission vehicle, and the aim of the newly-expanded Go Ultra Low consortium is to share the multiple benefits with a wider audience.

"We've discovered that once people learn more about the benefits of these cars and vans, they're keen to take action - and once they've tried them, they're hooked."
