Home Entertainment Source (HES), a specialty CE division of the BrandSource buying group, will debut three new vendors at the groups' annual spring meeting next month.
The new additions — Access Networks, Altona and Screen Innovations — will be on display at the 2014 Summit & Expo, slated for March 16-19 at the Marriot World Center in Orlando, Fla.
"We are very careful about which vendors we select to be part of the group," said Jim Ristow, HES executive VP. "By hand-picking these vendors, we have identified key areas of growth that we think our members will find extremely helpful as part of their total solutions package."
Screen Innovations offers high-end screens with ambient-light-rejection technology for the growing number of homeowners who want to use a big screen in a room that is not completely darkened, HES said. Altona similarly fills a void by catering to both the commercial and residential integrator, offering scalable distribution systems for both large and small installs.
Meanwhile, Access Networks' enterprise-grade networking solutions round out HES's networking options as everything from TVs to appliances become connected to the Internet, and networks become the backbone of any commercial or residential venue, the group said.
At the show, HES will also provide education forums covering such topics as the expansion of the commercial market and how to tackle new opportunities like LED lighting, IP camera integration and BlueBolt implementation, featuring input from green-tech distributor Energy Squad and manufacturers IC Realtime and CORE Brands.
Other sessions include "Secrets for Hiring Top Talent" with speaker Daniel Abramson, who will provide insight on hiring A-players and avoiding costly bad hires and momentum-killing turnover.
HES, together with the Progressive Retailers Organization (PRO Group), comprise the $3 billion ProSource cooperative, which serves independent A/V specialty dealers, custom installers and system integrators.
HES membership director Sherry Dantonio noted that show registration "is building on the momentum of a very successful 2013," which she attributed to the strong solutions the group provides to integrators.
"We predict this momentum will continue into 2014 as we continue to add exciting programs for members," she said.
