BeyondTrust is using GITEX to make its mark on the Middle East, having proclaimed that it is ready to do serious business within the region.
As part of the vendor’s drive to push into the region, it recently appointed Sudarshan Avadhany as its MENA Sales Director. According to Brent Thurrell, Vice President, EMEAI, BeyondTrust, Avadhany will fill the crucial role of being the regional first point of contact for the brand.
“Sudarshin is our first guy on the ground so to speak, and he’s working with our partners over here, and really trying to move the business forward, which I think is crucial for this region, to have somebody on the ground,” he told CNME.
“While we’ve seen a lot of interest, being able to have somebody on the ground over here to work very closely with partners and with customers directly is just hugely important for us. It’s very difficult to keep traction in the region if you don’t have somebody on the ground as a key point of contact.”
The vendor, which specialises in context-aware security intelligence, has seen decent growth in the EMEA region over the course of 2013 – Thurrell estimated the growth figure to be around 30 percent. And to keep the momentum going, BeyondTrust has appointed regional sales directors in various key areas around EMEA.
At the heart of the BeyondTrust’s product portfolio is the BeyondInsight platform. According to Thurrell, it consists of various technologies to do with vulnerability and management – made available through acquisitions. However, BeyondTrust has unified these technologies so that customers can make use of them through a single platform.
“Having this single-console approach to be able to manage both vulnerability and privilege in one place is pretty transformative to any security department,” Thurell explained.
