German carmaker Opel will offer SuperSport chassis option in all its forward-wheel drive (FWD) Insignia cars.
Both the gasoline and diesel powered FWD Insignia cars will now be offered with a chassis package which comprises High Performance Struts (HiPerStruts), brembo brakes and tuned as per the Opel Performance Center (OPC) settings.
Earlier, the chassis combination was offered only in the sporty Insignia OPC model and all-wheel drive (AWD) Insignia variants.
Opel said that the chassis can also be ordered together with the FWD variants of the 2.0 CDTI 118 kW/160hp diesel model and the 2.0 litre gasoline engine with 162 kW/220hp output.
The SuperSport chassis option, together with the FlexRide system, which offers three modes Standard, Tour and Sport, will be offered at a price of EUR2,930.
The HiPerStrut suspension enhances grip of the vehicle in wet or dry conditions and allows more power to be applied during cornering.
The kingpin inclination angle of the new chassis has been reduced from 13 to 9 degrees which will allow drivers to make more use of the Insignia power potential.
