American automobile manufacturer Ford Motor is set to temporarily suspend production at its Romanian plant in November 2013, in response to weak demand in European market.
The suspension will be for 13 days and represents the third straight month of stoppages at this plant. The company had also suspended car production in September and October 2013.
The company, which started its B-Max model production in 2012, currently manufactures 370 cars and 1,000 engines for several models per day at this plant.
Ford Romania spokeswoman Ana-Maria Timis told Reuters that they will stop car production for 13 days and engine production for eight days in November.
"The eight-day stoppage in engine production is caused by low demand for vehicles and overlaps with the period of suspension of car production," Timis added.
About 4,000 employees working at this plant will be affected by the production halt. The company will offer 80% of their wages during this period.
