US-based H.B. Fuller has launched its new $10m manufacturing facility in Rionegro, Colombia in a bid to expand business in the Andean region of South America.
The new 20,770ft2 facility will provide hot melt and water-based adhesive technologies for the hygienic, packaging, and corrugate and assembly markets.
Rionegro plant houses administrative offices, labs, and receiving and dispatching, in addition to production.
The new hygienic technical laboratory at the facility is said to help in meeting the region's growing nonwoven hygiene market, according to the company.
H.B. Fuller Americas region senior vice president Traci Jensen said the facility represents a continued commitment to customers, shareholders and local community, as well as to employees.
"It is a sign of the important role this business and geography play in our strategic plan for the region and for H.B. Fuller," Jensen added.
