Recently, Italian famous car manufacturer FIAT Company reported the European new car sales in 2012. It was 798,542, with a drop of 15.8% compared to 2011, due to European financial crisis.
According to FIAT Group’s different brands of cars, the main brand FIAT’s sales were 581,885, with a decline of 14.9% year on year. The new brand Panda’s sales were about 186,000, accounted for 15.7% of European A-class car market. FIAT 500 (Mouse)’s sales were over 146,000, occupied 12.4% of European A-class car market. FIAT Group indicated that the total market share of Panda and FIAT 500 (Mouse) was 28.1%, ranked the first place.
Lancia’s sales were 93,624, with a drop of 9.2% year on year. Alfa Romeo’s sales were 89,962, down 31.1% year on year, with a sharp decline.
On the other hand, Jeep’s sales were 28,263, up 19% year on year. According to different countries, the sales in Germany, France and UK increased 65%, 22.4% and 7.5% respectively.
FERRARI and MASERATI’s sales were 3,649 (including DODGE), with a large drop of 38.1% year on year.
In addition, FIAT Group’s European new car sales were 49,311 in December of 2012, decreased 17.8% year on year, lasting two digit drop rate.
