Navistar Has Unveiled The Production Model of Its International Prostar Truck

US based truck and engine maker Navistar has unveiled the production model of its International ProStar truck with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) engine at the ongoing 2013 Mid-America Trucking Show held in Kentucky during 21-23 March.

The truck is powered by the MaxxForce 13L SCR engine that generates outputs ranging between 365hp to 475hp and torque ranges of 1,250lbft to 1,700lbft.

Features of the MaxxForce 13 include Cummins Emission Solutions after-treatment system, with improved turbochargers, EGR valves, high and low temperature coolers and exhaust bellows.

The engine is claimed to be one of the lightest weight 13L by the company due to its design and compacted graphite iron (CGI) block construction.

Electronic control module recalibration to the SCR system of the engine is anticipated to enable the engine deliver increased fuel economy, power and throttle response.

Earlier, the company had produced the ProStar equipped with the Cummins ISX15 with SCR.
