Goodyear has introduced two concept tires dubbed BHO3 and Triple Tube at the 85th Geneva International Motor Show.
The BHO3 is aimed at the growing electric car market, which is designed to eliminate the vehicle-range related problems in electric cars.
The tire claimed to charge the batteries of electric cars by transforming the heat generated by the rolling tire into electrical energy.
The tire can capture and transform the energy created by heat produced during during normal driving conditions, and the materials are capable of optimizing the tire's electricity generation capabilities and its rolling resistance.
The Triple Tube tire consists of three internal tubes within the tire which can help the tire adjust to different road conditions.
It relies on an internal pump which is capable of moving air from the main air tube to the three individual air tubes and can adjust to three different positions depending upon the road conditions.
Goodyear SVP Joe Zekoski said: "These concept tires reimagine the role that tires may play in the future.
"We envision a future in which our products become more integrated with the vehicle and the consumer, more environmentally friendly and more versatile."
